This guide explains how self storage works in Antalya, how much space you need, what it costs and what to look for when choosing a storage company.

What is self storage?

Self storage means renting a private storage space for your own belongings, usually on a monthly basis. Instead of filling a spare room, a balcony or a garage, you keep furniture, boxes and equipment in a secure warehouse and take them back whenever you need them.

Note that self storage at Kafes Depo does not mean free 24/7 access: for security, the warehouse is open to customers by appointment, while cameras monitor it around the clock.

In Antalya, self storage is especially useful because of the climate: the summer heat and high humidity can damage furniture, textiles and documents kept in basements or storerooms. A dry, humidity-controlled warehouse protects them much better.

How it works at Kafes Depo

At Kafes Depo, each customer has a separate, lockable cage unit inside an indoor warehouse. Your items are not mixed with anyone else's belongings. The process is simple:

1. Contact us by WhatsApp or phone and tell us roughly what you want to store.
2. Get a fixed price offer. A free on-site survey is available if you are not sure about the volume.
3. Pick-up (optional). Our team packs your belongings, dismantles furniture where needed and transports everything with our own trucks.
4. Storage. A short rental contract is signed (a valid ID is required). Your items are placed in your own unit in a humidity-controlled warehouse with 24/7 camera monitoring, alarm and fire alarm systems, regular cleaning and pest control. Stored belongings are covered by insurance.
5. Visits and returns. You can visit your unit or take back your items by appointment, Monday to Saturday between 11:00 and 15:00.

There is no deposit and no long-term commitment; the minimum rental period is one month. We have two warehouses in Antalya: Muratpaşa (main) and Aksu.

Every home is different: a large book collection, a full kitchen or children's belongings can add several cubic metres. A typical 2-bedroom home also needs around 40–50 moving boxes. If you are not sure, send us a few photos of your rooms via WhatsApp and we will estimate the volume for you.

How is the price calculated?

The monthly price depends mainly on two things: the volume of your belongings (the unit size you need) and the rental period. Optional services such as packing and pick-up from your address are priced separately according to the distance and the amount of work.

At Kafes Depo the price is fixed for the agreed period, with no deposit and no hidden costs. You can pay monthly, every three months or yearly, and discounts are available for longer rentals and advance payment. What can and cannot be stored?

You can store almost all household and business items: furniture, beds and mattresses, white goods, boxes, clothes, books, bicycles, sports and seasonal equipment, office furniture, stock and archive files.

For safety and hygiene, the following are not accepted: flammable, explosive or hazardous materials and chemicals; living animals and plants; perishable food and drinks; cash, gold, jewellery and valuable documents. If you are unsure about an item, please ask us before moving it.

• Private unit: Make sure your belongings are kept in your own lockable space, not in a shared area.
• Humidity and cleanliness: In Antalya's climate, a dry and clean indoor warehouse is essential.
• Security: Ask about camera monitoring, alarm systems and insurance.

Packing tips for storage

• Use boxes of the same size where possible; they stack more safely and save space.
• Fill boxes completely. Half-empty boxes can collapse under the weight of other boxes.
• Put heavy items such as books in small boxes and light items such as bedding in large boxes.
• Make sure furniture, fridges and washing machines are completely clean and dry before storage; leave fridge doors slightly open.
• Number each box and keep a short list of what is inside. It makes finding things much easier months later.
